How To Apply

To prepare for applying, potential renters and buyers should confirm eligibility:
-At least one member of the household must work, or plan to work, for a Qualified Employer for a minimum of 1,400 hours per year while occupying the unit. Exceptions apply for those who are Qualified Disabled or Qualified Retired.
-The household income of an applicant seeking to own or rent a unit may not exceed 200% AMI for a three-person household.
-No member of your household may own Residential Real Estate in Teton County, ID, or adjacent counties, at any point during occupancy of the unit.
-The unit must be used as your household's primary residence.
Once you have reviewed your eligibility above, potential buyers should take the following steps:
- Meet with a local lender and get pre-qualified for a loan (learn what loan amount is manageable for your household).
- Determine that you have resources available for a down payment (at least 5% of the purchase price is typically required for down payment and closing costs).
- You may wish to take a homebuyer education class to learn more about the steps in the homebuying process.
Once you submit a completed application form, you will be entered into a weighted drawing for the unit.
If you are selected in the weighted drawing, Teton Valley Housing staff will contact you and begin the process of verifying information submitted in your application. This process may include:
